Bioneers by the Bay/New Bedford, MA will be joining over 1500 actions in over 110 countries to host a 350 Day of Action, on Saturday October 24th 2009, the International Day of Climate Action.

The Bioneers by the Bay/New Bedford, MA 350 Day of Action will take place from 5:00pm – 5:45pm, right in the heart of Downtown New Bedford, MA at 684 Purchase St. on the streets outside the Zeiterion Theatre.

The focus of the Bioneers by the Bay/New Bedford, MA 350 Day of Action will be to bring regional awareness to the importance of the number 350 through the demonstration of seal level rise in Downtown New Bedford and to demand international action on climate change in Copenhagen this fall. The event will be MC’d by Tem Blessed, Callum Grieve of the Climate Group will speak along with Robin Chase, founder of ZipCar and GoLoco. In addition, Climbing poeTree will perform part of their award winning Hurricane Season. All of which will be focused on climate change and 350. In addition there will be a photo-op and a petition based action.

We invite you to join us the Saturday of the conference by registering for the conference, applying for a scholarship, or applying to volunteer. Then STAY and join hundreds of others at the Bioneers by the Bay/New Bedford, MA 350 Day of Action that evening, to let the SouthCoast region and our representatives know the importance of the number 350 and that we are ready to ACT!
